His uncle immigrated to America which soon inspired Dr. Ghaffarian to follow in his footsteps.

He watches the first man walk on the moon and becomes fascinated with space exploration.

He then immigrated to the U.S. with virtually no money or speaking a word of English.

THE SGT YEARS

Ghaffarian and Harold Stinger, ended their government contractor jobs and founded SGT working from Ghaffarian’s basement. Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies, Inc. (SGT), was a government services company that focused on IT, Engineering, Science Applications, and Mission Operations. SGT’s core principles were: Integrity, Customer, Employees.

SGT hit many business milestones to include one of the most successful minority owned businesses in its sector. They also received some of NASA’s most notable awards to include the Contractor Excellence Award as well as the George M. Low NASA Quality Award. During this time, Dr. Ghaffarian would also obtain a Master’s of Science in Information Management and a PhD in Management Information Systems.

Dr. Kam Ghaffarian established IBX which stands for Imagine, Believe,
Execute, as a flagship for a diverse collection of ventures focusing on commercial space travel, next-
generation energy solutions,
conscious multimedia, and
philanthropic educational projects.
The IBX tagline, “Changing the world, making a difference,” is reflected in his newest endeavors as well which aim to generate opportunities for people to connect to their gifts,
talents, and curiosities, so they can play an active role in developing and creating a more conscious culture.

SGT is acquired by KBR, Inc. Upon the sale of the company, SGT was NASA’s second largest engineering services provider, employing 2,400 people and generating over $500 million in revenue.
Formed Limitless Space Institute with Brian Kelly a non-profit organization and the world’s leading institute for space operations and exploration.
Created KamCo Media, a company dedicated to curating and launching entrepreneurs and creatives whose primary purpose is to raise the level of the collective consciousness with their art.
Founded The Lighthouse, a spiritual retreat center on 127 acres in France, where worldwide healers come together to teach people how to connect to their inner spirit and consciously align their mind, body, and soul in order to serve the goals of personal development and global philanthropy.
